In January 2025, Shruti and Soham, alongside NF Network members, advocated on Capitol Hill for increased neurofibromatosis research funding. Mentored by Karen Peluso of NF Northeast,they shared personal stories with legislators nationwide. The goal: secure $25 million more for the CDMRP-NFRP in FY 2026. Many agreed to sign on. Through diligent follow-ups, we saw real progress. This experience was truly empowering, proving that young voices can drive meaningful change in the fight against NF. Their advocacy journey continues, fueled by the impact witnessed firsthand in Washington.
